Welcome to the Partner Portal Domain Configuration page! This guide will walk you through the process of setting up a custom domain for your affiliate partner portal. A custom domain helps reinforce your brand and makes it easier for your partners to find and trust your affiliate program. This feature is available for Branded and higher subscription plans
Why Set Up a Partner Portal Domain?
- Brand Consistency: Your partners will access the portal through a subdomain of your main website, reinforcing your brand.
- Trust: A branded domain looks more professional and trustworthy than a generic platform URL.
- Easy Access: Partners can easily remember and access your portal through a branded link.
Step 1: Enter Your Preferred Subdomain
- Look at the domain input field on the page. You'll see it's structured like this: https:// [Your Subdomain] [Your Shop Link]
- In the input field, enter your preferred subdomain. For example, if you want your portal to be accessed at "https://partners[Your Shop Link]", you would enter "partners" in this field.
- Choose a subdomain that's:
- Short and memorable
- Relevant to your affiliate program (e.g., "partners", "affiliates", "creators")
- Consistent with your brand voice
Step 2: Save Your Changes
After entering your preferred subdomain, simply click the "Save Changes" button. Our system will automatically generate the necessary DNS records for you.
Step 3: Note the CNAME Record Information
After saving, you'll see a table with CNAME record information. This is what you'll need to set up with your domain registrar or DNS provider. The table includes:
- Name: The subdomain you've chosen (e.g., "partners").
- Value: Where the subdomain will point to.
- TTL (Time to Live): How long DNS servers should cache this record.
Step 4: Set Up the CNAME Record with Your Domain Provider
To make your custom domain work, you need to add this CNAME record to your domain's DNS settings:
- Log into your domain registrar or DNS provider's website.
- Find the DNS management or "Add DNS Record" section.
- Select "Add CNAME Record" or a similar option.
- Enter the information exactly as shown in the table on this page.
- Save your changes.
Note: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though often it's much quicker.
Step 5: Verify and Test
After setting up the CNAME record:
- Wait at least 15-30 minutes for initial propagation.
- Try accessing your new partner portal URL (e.g., https://partners[Your Shop Link]).
- If it doesn't work immediately, don't worry. Check again in a few hours.
Troubleshooting:
If you're having issues:
- Double-check that you've entered the CNAME record correctly at your domain provider.
- Ensure you're using "https://" when testing the URL.
- Clear your browser cache or try from a different device.
- If problems persist after 48 hours, contact your DNS provider or our support team.
